The body fat that has been developing over the winter months, now has to be exposed to the world as the baggy jumpers and drawstring joggers are out and the strappy tops, vests, bikinis and shorts are in!

So, here's some background info about me and my mission to help you with your health and fitness goals. I want to help more Fitness First members like you to reach your health and fitness goals.

I knock out about 25-30 hours of 1:1 Personal Training per week which generates another 10-15 hours of admin and program design to help people like yourself achieve your dream body. The only problem with this is that with a full schedule of about 23 clients, I can't take any more clients on, therefore I am limited to only being able to help about 23 people at any one time. This situation frustrates me because I want to reach out and help more people, like you, and make a real difference.

There are still hundreds of members at the gym who look the same as they did months even years ago that I see doing ineffective workout routines day in day out, usually comprising of about 10 mins on the bike, 30 mins walking on the Treadmill at incline 15 hanging on to the top of the machine, or running at 0% incline, coffee and a chat in the juice bar for 5 mins, 10 mins on the X-Trainer at a comfortable pace and then to finish off, maybe some ineffective abs exercises and a few minutes on the resistance machines on a ridiculously light weight (because they don't want to bulk up!). :)

All fitness levels, ages (minimum age 16) and abilities are welcome, as exercises will be adapted to your individual needs.

I'll be giving out a "nutritional tip of the week" each week to help you maximise your results.

In between Boot Camp sessions you'll be doing High Intensity Interval Training, I'll give you advice on how to perform this method of cardio so that your workouts down the gym will be more productive and time efficient. You'll be able to apply your new and effective exercises into your own routines once the 8 weeks are over to continue making progress long term.

Q) Will sessions still go ahead on the Bank holiday Mondays?
A) Yes

Q) What happens if it is raining?
A) You get wet! Bring a light waterproof jacket and an old towel

Q) I want to bring my partner but he is not a gym member and not one of your clients, can he still do the bootcamp?
A) Yes, partners are welcome

Q) What exercises will we be doing?
A) Lots of fun paired up work and team work, to work up a sweat and have a top laugh at the same time!

Q) What do I wear to the Boot Camp?

A) Trainers, old tracksuit bottoms or shorts (if it’s not too cold) and an old T-shirt that you don’t mind getting dirty
as there’ll be some close contact with the grass (commando crawling under cargo nets) Also, there might be rain so bare
that in mind and have an old towel and dry change of clothes with you for the journey home. You can always have a shower
and get changed at the gym afterwards. Hopefully the weather will be nice though, fingers crossed! 

Q) I've never done anything like this before, will I cope?
A) Yes. The idea of the boot camp is to get you fit! Each exercise during the session is tailored to your individual needs so anyone of any level of fitness can take advantage. You will be paired up with a training partner of comparable fitness levels as you so if you are unfit you certainly won't feel like you're being left behind!

Q) Is this a military style bootcamp?
A) No. Although my client sometimes say that I'm an evil bastard (in the nicest possible way or course) :) I have no military background and will not be shouting orders at anyone! Sessions are designed to be fun and challenging at the same time to get you maximum results.

Q) What happens if I miss a session for any reason?
A) Nothing. no refunds are given and the session will go ahead without you. For maximum results don't miss sessions.

Q) Why should I chose bootcamp over my regular gym class?
A) The great outdoors is the 1st advantage of Boot Camp, there is something magical about training outside in the fresh air surrounded by nice green trees and wildlife. Secondly, regular gym classes get boring and monotonous and the instructor generally doesn't have the time to spend with you individually to make sure that you are working hard enough, it's all to easy to sit in your comfort zone and not push yourself hard enough to get outstanding results. I've seen people at the gym who base their whole exercise regime around doing classes and they look just the same now as they did years ago! It is time to break the mold...
